Fireworks, cultural events to mark ‘Ravan Dahan’ on 5th

The stage is set for grand Dusshera celebration in city as same is being held after a gap of two years. The main attraction is Ravan Dahan held annually at Kasturchand Park by Sanatan Dharma Yuvak Sabha. This year, on October 5, it is 71st year of celebration, apart from Ravan Dahan, cultural programme is also organised. During this year, the cultural event line-up includes Raas Garba, Dhol Pathak, dance drama, Sita haran, Ravana vadh drama etc. After this, there will be a view of colorful fireworks in the open sky. During the programme, a special issue of the social magazine Sanatan Samachar published by the organisation will also be released.
 
The editorial board consists of Umesh Sharma, Narendra Satija and Sapan Nehru. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will be present as chief guests in the program and BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule and MLA Nitin Raut will be guests of honour. Similarly, MLAs Krishnaji Khopde and Sameer Meghe; Pravin Datke and Parinay Fuke, both MLCs, social worker Ajay Sancheti, Mitesh Bhangdiya, former Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari will be present. Yashwantrao Social Forum: The annual event of Ravan Dahan will be held at Ward no. 35, East Samarth Nagar, at NMC school premises. Khemu and Amar Binawar have created 30 feet tall effigy of Ravana and this is 25th year of celebration.
 
A spectacular fire show by Dhondibaji Parasram Karvatkar is also organised and thousands of citizens throng the venue. Ajay Sancheti, ex-MP, Sagar Meghe, MLA, Dinanath Padole, ex-MLA, Sunil Raisoni, Raju Agrawal, Vikas Pincha and Devilal Jaiswal, well known business persons of city, will be guests, informed a release issued by Dilip Pankule, President, Yashwantrao Chavan Social Forum, Vidarbha Region. Quetta Colony Panchayat: The Panchayat has organised Ravan Dahan at Kacchi Visa ground near Chhapru Nagar Square. Rajesh Kingre, General Secretary, Tilak Ahuja, Convenor, Vikas Makheja, said that a shobhayatra will start from Panch Bhawan at 4 pm on Wednesday. It will depict various scenes from Ramayan in the floats. As per Rajesh Muniyar, President, the effigy of Ravana will be 45 feet high. This is 61st year of celebration.
