SFS English School, Nimkheda and Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar girls stormed into final of the inaugural Under-16 football tournament organised by YMCA at Rural Police Headquarters Ground, Suyog Nagar, North Nagpur. In the semi-final, SFS girls got the better of Centre Point School Dabha 3-0 via tie-breaker after both the teams failed to break the deadlock. In the penalty shoot-out Rashi Luhare, Samiksha Madankar and Prapti Kirpan scored for SFS while none of the shooters from CPS managed to find back of the net. In the other semis, Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar’s Samaira Khurana (6th) and Arya Kumbhare (21st) scored goals as they blanked St Joseph’s Convent, Mohan Nagar by two goals to nil to make it to the final. In the boys’ group, Indian Olympiad School, Kids World School, St John’s High School and BVM, Ashti booked the last-four berths after winning their quarter-final matches.
The boys semis will be played onTuesday morning while both the finals would be played in the evening same day.
