RAIPUR,
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Schedule Tribe (ST) Morcha leaders and members staged Chakka Jam at different places across State to protest the reduction in ST reservation.
ST Morcha leaders blamed Congress’s irresponsibility and ill-intention behind the High Court reducing the ST Reservation from 32 per cent to 20 per cent.
At the Chakka Jam in Raipur, agitators were led by Scheduled Tribe Commission’s former National Chairman
Nandkumar Sai, Raipur City District President Jayanti Bhai Patel and ST Commission District President Bajrang Dhruv. Senior BJP Leader Nandkumar Sai said BJP gave tribal communities their rights and Congress cheated them. BJP is with the tribal community in their fight for 32 per cent reservation. Former Union Minister Vishnudeo Sai, District Panchayat President Rajmuni Bhagat, District President Sunil Gupta, ST Morcha District President Lalit Nagesh and thousands of party workers staged Chakka Jam. When the Tribal community voted Congress to victory in large numbers, Congress thought the community would not oppose whatever the government does.
