RPF Katni handover lost luggage to owner under ‘Operation Amanat’

With efforts of Railway Protection Force (RPF), a family from Aurangabad in Bihar got their lost luggage at Katni Railway Station. RPF has started a special campaign ‘Operation Amanat’ for retrieving lost luggage or commodities of passengers in trains and handing over the same to its owners. According to RPF Katni, on November 19, a woman named Shakuntala deposited a luggage of an unidentified person and informed that she along with her family was returning from a family function in train number 12296 Sanghmitra Express at Katni. They had reserved seats in S6 coach. They took out their luggage from the train at Katni Railway Station and found that luggage of another passenger was left with them. She immediately reached RPF Post Katni and deposited the luggage. Learning about the incident, RPF Post Katni swung into action and started search for luggage owner and contacted Dharmshila Kumari (30), wife of Ajit Kumar, a resident of Britania area, Aurangabad in Bihar. She along with her husband reached RPF Post Katni and took possession of her luggage which carried cash, jewellery and other materials worth Rs 10,000 and expressed gratitude towards RPF personnel for safely handing over the luggage.
