Agrovision is ‘guide’ for agro sector: MP CM

The Government of Madhya Pradesh has skipped conventional agriculture for the past several years and has adopted modern techniques of the agriculture under the guidance of Agrovision, taking agriculture to the next the level of in achieving prosperity, said Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
He said that the agricultural development achieved in Madhya Pradesh is the result of Agrovision’s guidance.
Chouhan was speaking at the inaugural session of the 13th edition of Agrovision exhibition conceptualised by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. The four-day expo is being held at PDKV ground in Dabha.
MP Kripal Tumane, MLA Ramdas Tadas, Consultant of Agrovision Committee Dr Charudatta Mayee, Vice-Chancellor of University of Animal and Fisheries Sciences, Dr Ashish Paturkar, Vice-Chancellor, Punjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University, Gadakh, Shantanu Gupta of Indian Oil, Shantanu Pendse of Bank of India, District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar, Agrovision Covenor Girish Gandhi, Organising Secretary Ravindra Bortkar, Ramesh Mankar, MLA Sameer Meghe, MLC Pravin Datke, MLC Nago Ganar, former MLC Anil Sole were also present.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan further said that Agrovision is a technique to change the standard of life of farmers. “Inspired by Agrovision, Madhya Pradesh Government has been able to achieve increased production for farmers, reduced costs, provided direct benefits to farmers, emphasized on modern agriculture and helped farmers in natural calamities. Therefore, the Government could achieve 18 percent agricultural development rate this year. After achieving self-sufficiency in wheat production, the agricultural sector is now being diversified,” he added.
In his address, Gadkari took a recap of last 12 years of Agrovision’s journey. “Agrovision gave information about new concepts every year, its actual use in the field, benefits to the farmers etc. In the coming time, a grand convention centre will be established in Dabha and an office and training centre of Agrovision on Wardha Road, said Gadkari.
Earlier, the program was officially started with the lighting of the lamp. The booklet containing the participating institutions, companies, programme information, hall, dome numbers and addresses was released by the chief guest.
Renuka Deshkar conducted the proceddings of the funtion while Ramesh Mankar proposed vote of thanks. The programme was attended by farmers, experts, agricultural producers and others.
