Prince Rathore, the youngest Municipal President of Sehore, carries millions of dreams and plans for the betterment of his city Sehore. He has the zeal and enthusiasm to carry out all the schemes and policies of the State and Central government. In an exclusive interview with ‘The Hitavada’, Prince talks about his future plans for the progress and development of Sehore city. He also told about ‘Gaurav Divas’ that the city would celebrate on November 29.
Q:- What exactly is Gaurav Diwas and why did you choose November 29?
A:- Gaurav Divas is a ‘Pride Day’ for every citizen of my town and now it will be celebrated every year as the
birthday of our beloved town. We chose November 29 because on this date the Chief Minister of the State Shivraj Singh Chouhan took his first oath as the Chief Minister of the State in the year 2005.
Q:- What are your plans for Gaurav Divas?
A:- We will celebrate Gaurav Divas for five days. The programmes will start from November 25 and will conclude with a very big event on November 29. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also attend the programme. We have plans to take out a rally, organise blood donation and eye donation camp. Cultural events and competitions like rangoli, drawing, wall painting, essay writing etc will also be conducted.
Q:- Tell us about that one thing you always wished to change or reform in Sehore?
A:- I always dreamt of reviving the C2 River. Everyone talked about Seevan river but no one ever paid attention to C2. We have planned its beautification and soon the people of Sehore will enjoy its beauty.
Q:- Will the citizens of Sehore ever get a chance to enjoy boating in their city?
A:- Definitely! People will surely get a boating club at Seevan River in a year or two. People will also get an extraordinary gymnasium and a swimming pool which they have been longing for. A food street is also ready for the people to enjoy street food at one place.
Q:- Sehore has improved its rank in Swachh Survekshan last year and now stands at 67th place, where do you see it this year?
A:- We are working hard to take it to number one. We have increased the number of public toilets. We have added more waste collecting vehicles.
We are making Sanjeevani Clinics. Planning to install dustbins at every nook and corner of the town.
Q:- Tell us about the challenges. Challenges you may face from workers or cleaners.
A:- I am very lucky. So far I have not faced any problem. No sweeper is negligent at the workplace. There has been a lot of co-operation from all the ‘Swachhata Mitra’. I just want to appeal to the citizens of my city to help us in maintaining the cleanliness.
Q:- Now it has been 100 days as Municipal President, share your experience.
A:- Didn’t even know how 100 days passed. But yes I got a lot of support. We have completed the work of Rs 4 crores. Got two roads made and Sanjeevani Clinic, Food Zone in four wards.
The construction of the shopping complex has started. The work of a huge auditorium, underground parking and organised vegetable market will start soon.
