Only the Government cannot develop any city, village or area, unless there is full cooperation of the society with it. Give our best contribution in the development of our city, village, area.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan participated in the Sagar Gaurav Diwas celebrations at Sagar on the other day. Dr Harisingh Gaur’s 153rd birth anniversary was celebrated as Sagar Gaurav Divas. In the program, Chief Minister Chouhan honored many personalities of Sagar with “Sagar Ratna”. He also inaugurated various development works costing Rs 120 crore 50 lakh by pressing the remote button. Spectacular fireworks were done at the venue. Padmashri Shri Ramshay Pandey, singer Udit Narayan and other artists gave attractive performances in the programme.
Chouhan said that the cooperation of Sir Dr. Harisingh Gaur in the development of Sagar cannot be forgotten. Gaur Baba was wonderful, he gave ocean of knowledge to Sagar. He was a member of the Constituent Assembly and a renowned jurist. He spent all his money to build Sagar University. Many personalities like Acharya Rajneesh and Sudarshan ji have studied in this university. I have a deep connection with the ocean. I also got the opportunity to study philosophy in Sagar University for some time. Dr. Gaur’s biography will be included in the textbooks so that students can understand his sacrifice.
Chouhan said that works worth more than Rs 4770 crore will be done in Sagar in the next one year. Under the smart city plan, Sagar is being developed as a metropolis like Indore and Bhopal cities. Medical college has been already established in Sagar.
The CM said that social revolution is taking place in the field of education in Madhya Pradesh. The historic work of conducting engineering and medical studies in Hindi is being done in the state. The government is paying the fees for higher education of meritorious sons and daughters. Special emphasis is being laid on the education of girls in the state. Ladli Laxmi Yojana-2 has been started. Madhya Pradesh is the first state where death penalty is given to those who commit crime against daughters. Strict action is being taken against mafias and criminals.
He said that the Madhya Pradesh government is starting a micro finance scheme to provide immediate financial assistance to the poor, in which immediate assistance of Rs 5,000 will be given. Beneficiary will be able to return this amount without interest as per his convenience. Chouhan said that the height of Rajghat dam will be increased by two meters to increase irrigation facilities in Sagar region. An additional expenditure of about Rs 200 crore will be incurred on this, provision for which will be made in the next financial year. A train will also be run for Ayodhya under the Teerth Darshan Yojana.
Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Prahlad Patel said that Chouhan’s concept of celebrating the pride day of every village and city is highly commendable. This will not only lead to overall development of the areas, but also every person will be able to know the ancient glory of the area. Shri Patel said that Dr. Harisingh Gaur has made unique contribution in the development of Sagar. Let us follow the path shown by him. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan honored Padmashree Shri Ramshay Pandey, Padmashree Dr. Kapil Tiwari, famous cine actor Shri Mukesh Tiwari, retired IRS Shri Ashok Mishra, former UGC Chairman Prof. DP Singh, retired IAS Shri B.R. Naidu, Prof. G.S. Vajpayee, Prof. Shri Gaurishankar Parashar, Journalist Shri Shivkumar Vivek, Shri Rajesh Sirothia, Shri Sharad Dwivedi, Shri Amit Jain, Shri Vishnu Arya, Advocate Shri Chaturbhuj Singh Rajput, Shri Kailash Singhai and Shri Virdi Chand Jain with Sagar Ratna. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan inaugurated the program by garlanding the statue of Dr. Harisingh Gaur. MP Shri Raj Bahadur Singh and MLA Shri Shailendra Jain also addressed the function. Public Works Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava, Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh, Revenue and Transport Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput, public representatives and a large number of residents were present. A short film focusing on the life story of Dr. Harisingh Gaur was also screened in the programme.
Inauguration of Makaronia ROB: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan also inaugurated the Makronia Dewal Railway Over Bridge at Sagar constructed at a cost of Rs. 36 crore 26 lakh. This will facilitate the residents of the area to travel. Along with this, time and money will also be saved. The Chief Minister gave this big gift to the residents of Sagar on Sagar’s Pride Day.
