Come forward and work for prosperity of farmers: Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday urged the participants to come forward and work for the prosperity of the farmers. He said the country needs an atmosphere where no farmer should commit suicide. Gadkari was speaking at the concluding ceremony of the four-day Agrovision National Agricultural Exhibition held at PDKV ground in Dhabha.
“To achieve prosperous future for the farmers, more than 5,000 Farmer Producer Companies (FPOs) should be established in Vidarbha through determination, perseverance, commitment, confidence and hard work,” Gadkari said expressing the belief that this will start new chapter of prosperity in rural areas of Vidarbha.
Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule; Chairman of National Commission for Backward Classes Hansraj Ahir; former Maharashtra State Minister Sulekha Kumbhare; Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Minister Tage Taki; former Member of Lok Sabha Shishupal Natthu Patle; Dr Ashish Paturkar of MAFSU, Chancellor of Punjabrao Agricultural University, Akola; former MP Vikas Mahatme; Dr Mayee, Consultant; Ravindra Boratkar, Ravi Mankar, Girish Gandhi and others were also present.
In his address, Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that Agrovision has played a crucial role in bringing in positive change in the lives of many farmers. “It is a very good platform for farmers and all those who are associated with the agriculture sector,” he said adding that the exhibition had come a long way in last 13 years.
