RAIPUR,
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chhattisgarh State President Arun Sao launched a scathing attack on Congress Government over deteriorating law and order leading to a worrying uptick in crimes against women.
Lashing out at the Congress Government, Arun Sao said that there have been such heinous crimes against women that should make us hang our heads in shame. Under Congress’s rule, over 6,000 cases of rape were registered. The situation is so bad that a rape victim committed suicide out of frustration induced by police not registering her complaint. Sao was addressing a press conference.
Arun Sao alleged that Chhattisgarh stands in the second position in the number of rapes of tribal girls.
Malnourishment is becoming bigger and more widespread. The percentage of women anaemia patient’s is 65 per cent, the highest in the nation. Over 25000 kids died for the want of treatment in tribal areas. Congress and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel need to reply to these issues. The Congress selected three Rajya Sabha members from outside. Why didn’t the Congress find one eligible person for Rajya Sabha in Chhattisgarh? None of these Rajya Sabha members extended greetings to Chhattisgarh on Rajyotsav. The image of Chhattisgarh has also taken a hit after the raids on corrupt officials by Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax officers. Solid pieces of evidence of corruption against many close aides of Bhupesh Baghel have been found. Arun Sao asked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel whether he feels any shame about rape cases that are being reported almost every day. Even Congress leaders have been caught in the act of molestation. Sao claimed over 20000 unemployed persons in Chhattisgarh committed suicide in the past four years. At the press conference, BJP MP Santosh Pandey, State General Secretary Vijay Sharma, State Spokesperson Sandeep Sharma, media in-charge Amit Chimnani and Yuva Morcha State President Ravi Bhagwat were present.
