Lokayukta Police special establishment, Jabalpur team nabbed a Patwari while taking bribe of Rs 5,000 for updating his name in a property document at Patwari office, Sandeep Colony in Barhi, Katni district, on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Jai Prakash Singh, posted as Patwari Halka Number 12 Vichpura Barhi and a resident of Baran Mahgava, Dhanvahi village in Barhi, Katni. Lokayukta Inspector Kamal Singh Uike informed that an appellant named Rajkishore Agrawal (43), son of Ram Prasad Agrawa, resident of Station Road, Maulana Ward Number-10 in Barhi, Katni, lodged a written complaint with Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta Jabalpur, Sanjay Sahu that he had purchased an agriculture land at Bichpura village and order for changing the name of property owner was released from Tehsil Office, on November 7, 2022. He had applied for updating the computer record of property owner at Patwari Office.
Patwari Jai Prakash Singh had demanded bribe of Rs 5,000 for updating the computer record. Acting on the complaint, SP Lokayukta constituted a team and fielded appellant for collecting evidences. Once the information was verified, Lokayukta police team led by Inspector Kamal Singh Uike comprised of Inspector, Rekha Prajapati, Inspector, Naresh Kumar Behra and team reached at Patwari Office and trapped the corrupt employee while taking bribe of Rs 5,000 from the appellant. Lokayukta police have registered a case against the corrupt Government employee and Gram Kotwar under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act while further investigations are underway.
