THE Hockey World Cup Trophy will arrive in Raipur on December 24. Hockey India has planned for taking the Hockey World Cup Trophy to 16 states and the arrival to capital Raipur is the final destination of the tour.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will be the Chief guest of the unveiling ceremony and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Umesh Patel will preside over the programme. After according a grand welcome, CM will unveil the trophy at his residence-based office in Raipur at 10.30 am.
General Secretary of Chhattisgarh Hockey Manish Shrivastav said that it is for the first time that a world cup trophy is arriving in Raipur. The trophy will be handed over to President of Chhattisgarh Hockey Firoz Ansari in a grand programme to be organised at Field Marshal K M Cariappa Stadium at Bengaluru on December 23. Later, Firoz Ansari will carry the trophy and reach Raipur by flight at 9 am.
All office-bearers and hockey players will reach the unveiling venue. The trophy will be taken to Netaji Subhash Stadium in a rally and displayed for general public at a mall and Marine Drive in the city. FIH Men’s World Cup is being organised at Odisha from January 13 to 29 next year.
