The Lokayukta team, on Tuesday caught Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of District Cooperative Central Bank (Maryadit), Viresh Kumar Jain red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. The CEO was taking the bribe in lieu of approving joining and assuming charge of one Radhelal Yadav. Jain was about to retire only after 6 months.
Lokayukta SP Sanjay Sahu informed that the administration had terminated the services of Radhelal Yadav, outgoing Committee Manager Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society, Talad Tehsil Majholi. Against which he filed a petition in the High Court and the court passed stay order. After getting the stay, when the applicant Radhelal Yadav applied for joining and taking charge, the CEO Jain demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000.
Thus, Yadav complained about the matter to Lokayukta SP Sanjay Sahu. Taking the matter seriously SP Sahu constituted a team comprising DSP Dilip Jharwade, Inspector Kamal Singh Uike, Bhupendra Kumar Dewan and other officials. The team after proper investigation reached District Cooperative Central Bank Maryadit, on Tuesday and caught red-handed CEO Viresh Kumar Jain while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 from Radhelal Yadav.
The Lokayukta has made a case against CEO Jain under relevant sections and doing further investigation.
