Uddhav Thackeray, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief and former Chief Minister, flayed Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister and Shiv Sena (Balasahebanchi Sena) chief, over the latter visiting Dr Hedgewar Smruti Mandir in city on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference at Shiv Sena (UBT) office in Vidhan Bhavan premises, Uddhav Thackeray fired fresh salvos at Eknath Shinde.
Aditya Thackeray, MLA and former minister; Sanjay Raut, Member of Parliament, also were present on the occasion.
Asked about the clash between Shiv Sena’s Uddhav and Shinde factions in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters in Mumbai on Wednesday, Uddhav Thackeray replied, “They tried to capture our BMC office in Mumbai. In Vidhan Bhavan at Nagpur also, they resorted to same thing. Now, they have visited RSS’ Smruti Mandir. RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat should stay alert as Shinde group may take possession of RSS office too.”
Thackeray accused Shinde-led group of usurpation of legacy. “Those who do not have courage to build anything including organisation or legacy, attempt to steal or seize. They try to usurp legacy, steal identity or party of others,” he remarked.
To another question regarding statement of a Karnataka minister demanding Mumbai to be declared a Union Territory, Thackeray slammed the minister. “The minister’s statement reveals BJP’s designs regarding Mumbai,” he said. He also reiterated the demand for moving a review petition before the Supreme Court seeking to make the disputed areas along Maharashtra-Karnataka border as Union Territory till the Apex Court decided the dispute.
Thackeray also reiterated the demand for resignation of Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Governor of Maharashtra, over allegedly insulting the icons of Maharashtra. Thackeray flayed the Shinde-Fadnavis Government for not announcing any special initiatives for development of Vidarbha region.
