NEW entrant Indian Friends Football Club stunned the Kamptee based 2021 title winner Ansar Sporting Club by two goals to nil in the JSW Elite Division Football Tournament at JSW Football Ground in Kalmeshwar on Saturday. This was IFFC’s first win of the competition from five games with two ending in draws and two defeats. For Ansar, it was their second defeat from five games. They are sitting at third spot in points table with seven points behind table toppers Rahul Sankrutyayan Sports Association (15 points) and MOIL XI (8). One of the fastest rising clubs IFFC stunned the title holders by scoring a goal in the 33rd minute of play.

Abhiskeh Mahajan collected the ball on top of the rectangle and nutmegged defenders to bulge the net. The goal spurred up IFFC as they increased their attacks on Ansar citadel. The second goal was a superb volley from Geet Harankhede in the 66th minute which floored Ansar Sporting. A calculated through ball was well received by Harankhede who made no mistake in dispatching it into the net off a volley. On Sunday: MOIL vs Nagpur Academy FC at 2.30 pm.
