Sehore police succeeded in arresting highway robbers’ gang within 24 hours. These robbers used to rob people on the highway and also indulged in scuffle with them. Police have seized stolen booty worth more than Rs 10 lakh.
Under the campaign being run by Superintendent of Police, Sehore, Mayank Awasthi, to check property related crime, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Gitesh Garg and SDOP Mohan Sarwan, Police Station In-charge Vikram Adarsh and Parvati police team, nabbed the robbers and seized the tractor and other stolen material from their possesion.
According to police, a complaint of robbery was filed on December 4. Victim Arjun Baroda in his complaint said that he left Indore on his tractor at around 10.30 pm. On Bhopal-Indore highway near Ashta, some unidentified people stopped him and assaulted him. They also snatched his tractor and bag and threatened to kill him.
On his report, a case of robbery was registered. On the day of complaint Sehore police without wasting time formed a team under the leadership of SHO Uni Vikram Adarsh.
With the help of technical team and informers, the team raided suspect’s house in village Khadihat. During interrogation the accused accepted the crime and police arrested three more people of his team and seized looted tractor worth Rs 9,50,000 and some cash too.
