Centre Point School, Dabha kept their cool in the shoot-out as they went on to clinch the Under-19 football crown during the District Sports Office organised tournament at Mankapur.
In an evenly fought battle, CPS, Dabha defeated SFS High School, Sadar to emerge district champions.
After playing a goalless draw the match was decided via tie-breaker where CPS emerged victorious.
In the shoot-out, Gaurav Ghoshal, Arnav Rathod, Moulik Manke and Hardik Sharma scored goals for CPS, Dabha while for SFS, Sadar, Praman Ganvir, Vedant Kedar, Piyush Kanojia and Raj Kanojia were the goal getters.
In the Under-19 boys semi-finals, MKH Sancheti blanked NMC MAK Azad High School by two goals to nil. Raman Chaudhary put Sancheti School ahead in the 14th minute. Rocky Anthony scored in the second half to put Sancheti ahead. The score remained unchanged till the whistle.
In the inter-school inter-taluka competition, the Under-14 girls from Jain International School defeated BKCP, Kanhan 2-1 to enter the final.
In the final they will clash with Pragrtik Vidyalaya who beat Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Ashti by a solitary goal. In Under-19 girls’ category, Adarsh Vidyalaya defeated Bhavan’s Ashti through Vaishnavi Kshirsagar’s
solitary goal.
