76th Raising Day of Home Guards and Civil Defence and Disaster Management celebrated

The 76th Raising Day of Home Guards and Civil Defence and Disaster Management was celebrated at the Zonal Headquarter, Darikhana in an atmosphere charged with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. Presence of Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Sumitra Balmeek as chief guest, added to the passion and enthusiasm. She greeted everyone present at the venue and extended best wishes to all the officers and staff.
Addressing the gathering, MP Balmeek applauded organisation for its outstanding contribution and services to ensure civilians’ safety at the time of disaster.
Brave jawans of Home Guard dedicatedly fulfill their duties to help those in need. She said that the organization helps citizens develop and stay secure while also protects infrastructure and the environment. Later on, she felicitated more than 50 officers and staff of Home Guards/SDERF for their excellent works by presenting Letter of Appreciation.
Earlier, the jawans of 06 platoons including Central Training Institute Home Guard Mangeli Jabalpur, offered salute to the chief guest on her arrival at the programme venue. They carried out an attractive parade which was led by Jitendra Patel, Platoon Commander, CTI Home Guard Mangeli. Following which, a mock drill was organized by conducting disaster management, rescue operations for persons trapped in attack at stations, fire fighting and Cardio Pulmonary Respiration (CPR) techniques.
The chief guest also visited the exhibition of advanced disaster management equipments. Senior Staff Officer, Apoorva Shukla, Commandant Ashish Khare, Neeraj Singh Thakur and other officers attended the programme.
