NAGPUR’S Ikshika Umate stunned several seeded players as she clinched the 52nd Inter-District and 84th Maharashtra State Table Tennis Championship held at Derwan, Chiplun, the other day.

In the summit clash, Ikshika stunned top seed Divyanshi Bhowmick 11-6, 9-11, 11-7, 3-11, 11-5, 1-11, 11-9 to clinch the title.

Earlier in the semis, 10th seed Ikshika got the better of third seed Vaishnavi Jaiswal (TST) 7-11, 11-8, 11-2, 11-7, 8-11, 11-6 after beating second seed second seed Urvi Churi (TST) 10-12, 11-6, 11-5, 11-8 in he quarter-finals. Nagpur District Table Tennis Association President Deepak Dhote, Secretary Adv Ashutosh Potnis, Deepak Kanetkar and others congratulated Ikshika for her success.
