As many as eight projects based on renewable energy were exhibited during the project presentation day of BVoc students of Pt Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU) Raipur on Wednesday. COO of CHiPS Amitabh Sharma, who was present as external examiner, appreciated the work done by students of the university’s Renewable Energy Technology & Management (RETM). According to the information received, a group composed of Mahak, Sagar, Sakshi, Sumeet, Mansi has demonstrated their working model entitled ‘Hybrid Solar Fencing System’. A solar fence works like an electric fence which delivers a brief yet fierce shock when human beings or animals come in contact with the fence.
The shock enables a deterrent effect while ensuring that no loss of life is caused. Similarly, the team of Aniket, Jhamman, Kailash, Manish and Yogesh presented their idea of generating electricity using a speed breaker. Their project entitled ‘Speed Breaker Power Generation System by Roller Mechanism’ is a system of breakers installed in the road which generates energy with the help of moving vehicles. It consists of a roller mechanism that spins to generate DC. This energy produced is stored in a battery and then it is converted into AC through circuit use. This system can suffice the energy required to power traffic signals etc. Solar water pumping system with a moisture sensor is designed by students including Ishwar Prasad Sen, Devesh Sahu, Saumya Chandrakar and Thakur Ram Sahu. The system designed is pollution free, noiseless and eco-friendly for water pumping and at the same time used for ploughing the field with overflowed water & as soon as the entire field gets moisturized, it will automatically turn off the pumping system. Cost effective solar power can be the answer for all our energy needs.
The team of Himanshu Sahu, Indra Kumar Maheshwari, Vandana and Yogita Sinha, demonstrated a project of charging a mobile phone using solar energy. They used solar panels along with signal filtering & conditioning unit to generate fixed voltage & power that will be supplied to device for charging. The circuitry is also designed in such a way that besides charging a mobile phone it will also protect the battery from overcharging. Single axis solar tracking system demonstrated by Poonam Verma helps to maximize the total power generation by orienting the panels in direct sunlight for the maximum number of hours in a day. Omni directional wind power generation system for an Electric Vehicle, Solar Air Dryer and Green Building with ground water recharge and others are few other working ideas presented by Final Year students of BVoc RETM.
