WCR earns over 27L by renting locations for shooting movies

Rahul Jaipuriyar, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), WCR said, “Thanks to our nice locations like Sant Hiradaram Nagar Railway Station and other areas, WCR has earned a good revenue from film shooting. Four movies were shot at stations under Bhopal Division during year 2021-22.”
 
 
West Central Railway (WCR) has earned over Rs 27 lakh in financial year 2021-22 by renting its property for film shooting. According to Railway officials, WCR has given its premises and rail coaches for shooting of five films that helped to generate revenue of Rs 27,78,993. Officials said that Railway is promoting shooting of movies, songs and webseries in station premises and train coaches. Railway earned Rs 74,000 by renting Kota Railway Station for shooting of film ‘Jindal on the Way’ in August 2021. In the same month, shooting of Dr Arora movie was held at Sant Hirdaram Nagar Station that generated revenue of Rs 2.23 lakh to the Railways. During December 2021, some scenes of ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ movie was shot at Sant Hirdaram Nagar Railway Station, Bhopal, that generated revenue of Rs 9,37,784. In January 2022, scenes of ‘Maharani’ film was shot at Itarsi Railway Station that generated revenue of Rs 33,252. In February 2022, shooting of movie Nirmal Pathak was held at Dulariya station under Bhopal Division that generated revenue of Rs 15,10,957 to the Railways.
 
“Thanks to our nice locations like Sant Hiradaram Nagar Railway Station and other areas, WCR has earned a good revenue from film shooting. Four movies were shot at stations under Bhopal Division during year 2021-22,” said Rahul Jaipuriyar, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), WCR. He further said that there is big demand of railways’ locations for shooting of movies, webseries and songs. “Production house know how and where to contact. They contact us directly and demand our locations,” added Rahul Jaipuriyar.
