THE inter-college gymnastic competition for men and women organised by The Sports and Physical Education Department, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University got under way at Dhanwate National College on Thursday. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr Sanjay Thakre, Joint Director, Higher Education Department. Dr Bharti Khapekar, Officiating Principal, DNC presided over. The competitions are being held in rhythmic and Artistic categories for both men and women.

 

Purushottam Darwhankar is the technical official of the competition. Dr Devendra Wankhede, Sanjay Deshmukh, Dr Rajkumar Gosavi, Dr Garud, Yug Chhatri, Mayuresh Shirshikar, Sanket Vinchurkar and others were also present. During the inauguration function gymnasts, who recently won medals in state level competition, were felicitated by the guests. The programme was conducted by Dr Subhash Dadhe while Dr Jayant Jichkar proposed a vote of thanks. The closing ceremony will be graced by Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Sports and Physical Education Department, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University on Friday evening.
