Seoni’s daughter, Namita Chandel won the bronze medal with a 4-member team in the canoe sprint senior women’s C-4 200m water sports at the Asian Championships held in Pattaya, Thailand from March 24 to 27.
The Indian team has performed brilliantly in the competition and won many medals in different events. Players have won 5 bronze and one silver medal in water sports. There is an atmosphere of happiness among the residents of the district due to the victory of Namita, a resident of Chhapara in Seoni district .
After winning the bronze medal, Namita, while discussing with her parents and family members, said that success is definitely achieved by working hard. Father Umesh Chandel told that Namita said that today she has won a bronze medal. She will continue to work hard and will bring home a gold medal next time, she is sure.
Significantly, there are 9 players from Madhya Pradesh in the Indian team. Namita Chandel, Kaveri Dhimar, Shivani Verma and Anjali Vashisht were among the team that won the bronze medal in the women’s C-4 200m race. In this team, three players

years. Seoni’s daughter Namita has won more than 50 medals in national and international competitions so far. Namita was selected in the Indian team in the 2014 Asian Games. In the year 2016, Namita Chandel was awarded the Vikram Award, the highest sports honour of Madhya Pradesh. Now Namita is the brand ambassador of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao in Seoni district. Namita Chandel believes that if daughters get enough opportunities, then they could develop their talent and move forward.
