In an attempt to attract investments in Vidarbha, Maharashtra Minister for Industries & Mining Subhash Desai on Saturday announced that the ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’ investor summit would be held in Nagpur. He was addressing the gathering of industrialists, bureaucrats, political leaders, professionals and others at the 58th Foundation Day celebration of the Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA). Justice (Retd.) R K Deshpande, former Judge, Bombay High Court, Nagpur; Suresh Rathi, President VIA; Manish Satyanarayan Nuwal, Managing Director & CEO Solar Industries India Ltd; Vishal Agrawal, Director, R C Plasto Tanks & Pipes Pvt. Ltd; and Hakimuddin Ali, Executive Director, Dalmia Cements (Bharat) Ltd also were seated on the dais. Desai further said that the date and other details of the mega event, aimed at attracting big investments in and around Nagpur, were being finalised. In the previous edition of the summit, the State Government had signed MoUs worth more than Rs 5,000 crore which was expected to pave the way for creation of more than 9,000 jobs.

 

“As the State Government is making policies to boost industrial growth in the State, our focus is on Vidarbha region. And thus we are all set to celebrate the upcoming event in Nagpur and welcome all those who wish to support the initiative. Let us roll out the red carpet for the investors in the city,” he said. Adding that the State Government is also creating an ecosystem to support startups and women entrepreneurs, Desai said, one brilliant idea can conquer the world. “Every small businessman has a big dream. But to achieve big in business world, he or she has to put in lot of efforts,” he advised the gathering of industrialists. Apart from this, the Foundation Day celebration also witnessed presentation of “VIA & Solar Vidarbha Udyog Gaurav Awards 2021”.
