Madhya Pradesh State Women’s Hockey Academy defeated SAI Academy by 2-1 in the finals of 2nd Hockey India National Junior Women’s Academy Championship played in Gwalior from April 6 to 16. State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia congratulated the entire team and sporting staff for winning the Academy Junior National Hockey Championship by the players of the State Women's Hockey Academy. Both the teams could not score any goal in the first and second quarter of the final match.

 

 

In the 34th minute of the third quarter of the match, MP Academy player Bhumiksha Sahu scored a field goal to give her team a 1-0 lead. In the 43rd minute of the match, MP Academy player Ritika Singh scored from a penalty corner to give the team a 2-0 lead. In the 54th minute of the fourth quarter of the match, SAI Academy player Prini Kandir scored a field goal to take her team to 2-1. After this both the teams could not score any goal and the match ended in favour of MP Hockey Academy and the team won the match by 2-1.
