ALMOST 45 days after a contract labourer was killed in a mishap in the Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), the Bhilai Bhatti Police have registered offence against four persons including two BSP employees on charges of causing death by negligence and negligent conduct with respect to machinery. Subsequently, Khursipar resident contract labourer Keval (55), son of Uday Ram, who was sitting on the truck had fell on the ground. He had sustained fatal injuries and was rushed to the Main Medial Post where he was pronounced brought dead by the doctors examining him. The body was later shifted to the mortuary where post-mortem examination was also done. The police had launched investigations into the unnatural death and statements of several persons were recorded by it. Based on the findings of its investigations, the police registered the offence as it found that the victim died due to the negligence of the persons against whom the offence has been registered. Offence under Sections 287, 304-A, 34 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered by the Bhatti Police in this connection.
