During the review meeting of works done by the Revenue Department, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions for the early resolution of pending revenue cases of undisputed conversion and distribution.
Baghel said that the cases related to the demarcation of land should be disposed of by May 31, as well as the cases related to rectification of land records should be resolved in two months by running a special campaign. This includes pending cases like map allocation, record rectification etc. He has also instructed to ensure the presence of Patwaris at the headquarters and to fill vacant posts in tehsils soon.
Revenue Minister Jaisingh Agarwal, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Subrata Sahoo, Revenue Secretary N N Ekka, Director of Land Records Dharmesh Sahu, Deputy Secretary to Chief Minister Soumya Chaurasia and Director Public Relations Saumil Ranjan Choubey were present in the meeting. During the review meeting, the officers gave information about the resolution of revenue cases and various schemes of the revenue department.
Chief Minister Baghel said that ‘Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana’ is a unique scheme in the country in which landless laborers are being provided an assistance of Rs7000 annually. The beneficiaries receiving this financial assistance should be informed prior at the gram panchayat level before receiving the amount and written information should be given at the time of payment of each installment.
The Chief Minister directed to expedite the work of granting land owner rights to the beneficiaries in Nazul and
Slum Pattas. He said that a letter should also be sent to the Collectors in this regard. It was informed in the meeting that after visiting the rural areas, the Commissioner will meet the villagers directly and take information regarding the status of settlement of revenue cases. The Chief Minister appreciated this initiative taken by the commissioners for speedy disposal of revenue cases. He said that allotment, settlement, free holding and settlement
of land rent cases up to 7,500 square feet should be reviewed by the commissioners during their district stay and its report should be sent to the State Government.
Similarly, CM directed to update the information about the distribution of abadi pattas in rural and urban areas and to call for updated information about orange land in the district from the collectors. The Chief Minister said that basic facilities should be provided in tehsil offices and good seating arrangements should be made for the employees and beneficiaries.
While reviewing the status of redressal of cases of felling of trees, the Chief Minister said that the rules for felling trees situated on the land of land owners have been simplified by the State Government. According to which, the land owner will have to inform the SDM in the prescribed form for the felling of trees planted on his own land. If the trees have grown naturally, then the land owner will have to obtain written permission from the SDM for the felling of such trees. The time limit for granting permission has also been fixed. The Chief Minister directed to publicize these amendments made in the rules so that the needy people can get the benefit of it.
