THE Dharampeth Mahila Multistate Co-operative Society Limited, Nagpur on Tuesday celebrated its 28 Foundation Day with great fanfare. On the occasion, the society run by a group of ladies, launched a special recurring deposit (RD) scheme for women.
President of Nagpur Mahila Club Vilasini Nair, inaugurated the new scheme at a function held in the head office of the society at Dhrampeth. Head of Department of Microbiology Dr Neena Nagdev, NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Nagpur was present on the occasion.
Addressing a press conference soon after launching the scheme, President of the society Nilima Bawane said, “the initiative is aimed at reaching out to at least 10,000 women and offer them the benefits of special interest rate of 5 per cent on the RD. This scheme will also help us to develop a unique bond with the targeted women who could avail loan from the society.”
Under the RD scheme called ‘Mee Swalambhi’, the depositor can deposit from Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 per month for a period of six months. The depositor may further extend the period under the auto renewal mode for three times and
continue to avail 5 per cent interest rate.
President Nilima Bawane; Vice- President Sarika Pendse; Directors - Sadhana Rakshamwar, Anagha Vaidya, Neelam Bowade, Vrunda Shende, Smita Golar, Chaya Shukla, Shraddha Purohit and others were also present
