On an average, every year Madhya Pradesh receives 13.1 mm of rain during month of May but this year hardly 2.3 mm rain has been recorded in State.
Pre-monsoon showers generally begins in State from May 15 or 16. This year month of May has made people uncomfortable. There are a few districts in State having rain during month of May but this time, these districts did not record single drop.
According to IMD, Bhopal Gwalior, Datia, Ashok Nagar, Damoh, Sehore, Hoshangabad, Harda, Betul, Panna and a few other districts have not recorded pre-monsoon activities from May 15. Besides, a few districts have recorded pre-monsoon shower but the rainfall is below average. Sky remained clear throughout April and May due to which temperature was soaring. On Wednesday there were no major changes in temperature. Highest maximum temperature was recorded as 44.8 degrees Celsius in Khajuraho. Weather Department said that on May 20 and 21, temperature will be soaring in all parts of State. On May 19, maximum and minimum temperature in Bhopal would be 42 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius. Weather Department said that pre-monsoon activities will be entering in Madhya Pradesh from Jabalpur. Officials said that turf line has been formed from North-East Madhya Pradesh to Tamil Nadu due to the system formed on Bay of Bengal. There are no chances of heat waves in state for few days. Maximum temperature will remain below 45 degrees Celsius. A few days back, day temperature was around 48 degrees Celsius. In most parts of the State, maximum temperature remained below 45 degrees. For next two days, temperature will be fluctuating. On Wednesday, Bhopal recorded maximum temperature of 41.5 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature of 25.6 degrees Celsius. Indore recorded maximum temperature as 40.6 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature as 24.6 degrees Celsius. Jabalpur recorded maximum temperature as 42.6 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature as 28.4 degrees Celsius. Gwalior recorded maximum temperature as 44.7 and 28.1 degrees Celsius.
