The sixth national conference of Ahri-Vision 2022 on ‘Natural Farming-Advanced Techniques, Co-ordination and Implementation’ was held at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, PUSA, New Delhi. Dr Sanjeev Balyan, Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries who graced the programme as chief guest, bestowed Director, Research Services, Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University (JNAU), Dr Ganesh Kumar Kotu with Popular Scientist Award for his constant efforts to make agriculture a profitable business for farmers.
Dr. Kotu was honoured with award for his excellent works to develop improved varieties of cotton and paddy, research
and publicity of Quinoa cultivation, GI Tag and PPVFR and other significant areas.
Dr. Kotu was awarded in prestigious presence of Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, Dr. Trilochan Mahapatra, Deputy Director General Education, Dr. RC Agrawal, Deputy Director General Agriculture Extension, Dr. AK Singh, National Advisor, Agri Vision, Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari, ABVP office-bearer, Prafull Akat, Shriniwas, Gajendra Singh Tomar and National Convener, Agri Vision, Shubham Singh Patel.
Around 30 students with their professors and scientists including Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Amit Kumar Sharma, Incharge, Nutritious Element Project, Dr. Hitendra Kumar Rai, IPRO, Dr. Shekhar Singh Baghel, Dr. Amit Jha and Ashish Gupta from JNAU attended the national conference on Agri-Vision. Dr Kotu credited constant support and guidance of University Vice-chancellor, Dr. PK Bisen in his innovative efforts for farmers’ upgradation and research activities.
