Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia met Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anurag Thakur in New Delhi on Friday and apprised him of sports activities of Madhya Pradesh.
Minister Thakur also unveiled calendar based on infrastructure created by the Madhya Pradesh Sports Department.
Sports Minister Scindia told Union Minister Thakur that an international level sports complex is being built at Barkheda Nathu near Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh has made a special identity in sports at international level.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan international level facilities, infrastructure and coaches are available to the players of Madhya Pradesh.
Scindia said that it is our goal to develop Madhya Pradesh as a sports hub. Barkheda Nathu Sports Complex will be the first of its kind in the country to be built as per standards of World Championship. The stadium being built for each game will have its own distinct international identity.
Appreciating sports activities and infrastructure development works of Madhya Pradesh, Union Sports Minister Thakur assured all cooperation. Union Minister Thakur also saw the PPT presentation of International Sports Complex to be constructed at Barkheda Nathu. Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare Deepti Gaud Mukherjee and Director Sports Ravi Kumar Gupta were present.
