Panic like situation was created at National Law Institute University (NLIU) when 10 students tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday. According to reports, a few students residing in hostel were suffering from cough, cold and fever since few days. But none of them were aware of real issue and there was no precaution being taken by them. Students or staff in the university are not following Covid protocol as they assumed that Covid is on declining stage.
When many students fell sick, Covid test was conducted in the hostel where 10 students were found positive.
There are around 300 students in the hostel with these 10 infected students. Now all of them are scared of being infected. However, these 10 students have been quarantined. Students alleged that the university management is making no arrangement for safety of other hostellers. They said even students are avoiding to go through the test as they are scared of getting quarantine. Summer vacation of NLIU students will start from May 15. Students are scared that if they test Covid positive, they will be asked to be quarantine in separate hostel room. They would not be able to go their hometown. On Sunday, medical team conducted rapid antigen testing of students. The team also suggested to go through RTPCR testing of all students living in the hostel. University Vice-Chancellor V Vijay Kumar said that he has been informed about a few students falling sick. He said Covid test is being done for all the students.
