A new Director has been appointed in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal. Dr Ajay Singh, posted as Director, Post-Graduate Institute of Child Health, Noida, has been made the new Director of AIIMS Bhopal. His term will last till June 30, 2028. He has been appointed on deputation, although his original posting is as Professor in the Department of Paediatric Orthopaedics at KGMU, Lucknow. After eight months, AIIMS Bhopal has got a permanent director. Former Director Dr Sarman Singh had retired in November last. Since then the Director of AIIMS Raipur, Dr Nitin Nagarkar was also performing the responsibility of Director of Bhopal as incharge.

Dr Ajay Singh will soon take over as the Director of AIIMS. It is believed that with the appointment of a permanent director in AIIMS, the recruitment process on the vacant posts of faculty will be accelerated. Along with the appointment of specialist doctors, patients coming to AIIMS will also have convenience. New DDA also joined: A new Deputy Director (Administration) has also been appointed in Bhopal AIIMS. About a week ago, Colonel Ajit Kumar, an officer of the Indian Army, has been sent as the new Deputy Director (Admin). After the end of the tenure of DDA Dr Shramdeep Sinha, Colonel Ajit Kumar has been appointed on deputation.
