The Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar was launched to spread awareness on cleanliness in schools during the Covid period. On the instructions of the Ministry of Education, the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar 2021-22 was organized by the MP School Education Department. Cleanliness campaign was conducted in private and government schools regarding this competition. In this, how much attention was focused on cleanliness to avoid Covid in the school, what steps were taken for this, it was inspected. The purpose of this award is to make schools aware of cleanliness. Schools had applied online for this award. The survey committee under the leadership of the District Education Officer inspected the schools. Thereafter the names for the award were announced. More than 100 government and private schools of Bhopal district had applied. Out of these, 16 private and government schools in the capital have been selected. This includes seven government and nine private schools. Government Girl Higher Secondary School located in Tulsi Nagar came in first place, Government Primary School Suraj Nagar in second place and Government Secondary School, Kokta in third place. Certificates will be given to these schools on June 29.
Selected on this criterion: Schools were selected on the basis of greenery, gardening, cleanliness from classroom to toilet, behavior and capacity development of children, work done for covid control, maintenance, infrastructure, supply of potable water etc. 309 schools applied for state level award: Schools selected at the district level will apply for the state level award. So far 309 schools have applied. After this the award will be announced at the national level as well. The focus of the School Education Department is on selected schools so that the schools of the state can get the Swachh Vidyalaya award.
Team of ten students formed: Selected schools have formed teams of ten students. In this, a teacher has been made the nodal officer. Students will monitor cleanliness in their respective schools and will also motivate other students. Subhash Saxena, the headmaster of Government Primary School Suraj Nagar, said that if we have a primary school, only the teachers have to pay attention. From the mother’s garden, water tank and toilet to the cleanliness of the classroom, more attention is paid in the school.
