JANAKPUR Gram Panchayat of Koriya district will be given status of Nagar Panchayat. An announcement in this regard was made by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel during his ‘Bhent Mulaqat’ programme at Bahrasi in Bharatpur block of Koriya district. While addressing a mammoth gathering at Bahrasi, the Chief Minister made several announcements includingapproval of Rs 5 lakh each for construction of Devgudis in all villages of Bharatpur-Sonhat assembly segment, construction of new building for Baharasi Higher Secondary School, development of Ramdaha waterfall as a tourist spot, announcement of Rs 3 crore for Janakpur-Kotadol road affected people, installation of power sub centre at Madisarai, electrification of 26 remote villages, opening of District Cooperative Bank branch at Kelhari, opening of Swami Atmananda English Medium School Kelhari, sub tehsil status to Kuwanpur and Nagpur apart from giving Janakpur Gram Panchayat status of Nagar Panchayat. On receiving the complaint of error in settlement, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has instructed the officers to rectify the settlement error by holding a camp. He also gave various directives to the officers. Baghel interacted with the villagers and heard their grievances. The Chief Minister also interacted with villagers at Ramgarh and Rajauli villages. He made various announcements there. He installed the statue of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at Baikunthpur. He also met the delegations of various social organisations. He took night halt at Baikunthpur. BharatpurSonhat MLA Gulab Kamro, Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahoo, other officials and public representatives were present.
