Swara Gandhi a student of Class 2 of Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Ashti finished a creditable fifth position in the recently held national championship at Bhuwaneshwar. She collected 6.5 points out of nine in the competition.
Swara has so far participated in more than 108 competitions and has proved to be a chess wizard, informs a press release from the school. Swara has also won the district championship organised by the School of Scholars, Pratap Nagar in 2020. In 2021 she was awarded best girl participant by the Morphy Chess Academy.
Swara represented the school in Maharashtra State Under-7 girls school chess Championship and secured the 10th position.
She emerged the winner at All India Open Chess tournament at Chindwara in 2021. She also represented India in the Western Asian Chess Championship-2021. Principal of the school Vandana Bisen appreciated Swara’s accomplishments and wished her luck.
