Orientation programme for nine outbound selected students was held at Hotel Centre Point. The programme was attended by parents and students.
This year, nine students from District 3030 will go to the USA, France and Spain for 10 months or full academic year on this programme, a press release stated. During the orientation, Rotarians, professional speakers guided students on various topics. Chairman RYE Mamta Jaiswal was prominently present.
Advisor RYE Rajindersingh Khurana, Co-Chair Tarun Patel, Pooja Khatri, Governor RID3030 Ramesh Mehaer, PDG, Sangram Singh Bhonsale, Dr Manmohan Daga, Dr Rajiv Mohata and others guided students on various topics. The Rotary Youth Exchange programme is for higher secondary school students, aged between 15 and 18 years. Students travel to other countries to learn about culture and languages as well as act as a cultural ambassador for own country. Being a school-based programme, the exchange duration is of one full academic term of 10 months for long-term programme and for short-term programme it is for four to six weeks. The objectives are to advance international understanding and world peace by enabling youth to study programme area, to advance international understanding and world peace by enabling youth to study first-hand some of the accomplishments and differences of people in other countries, to broaden outlook by learning to live with and meet people of different culture, develop leadership, communication skills.
