Fadnavis gets rousing welcome in city

Nagpurians accorded a grand welcome to Devendra Fadnavis on his arrival on Tuesday after becoming Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
All leaders, office-bearers, volunteers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gathered at Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in large numbers to receive their beloved leader. Fadnavis was supposed to reach at 10 am but the airport premises witnessed crowd from 9 am itself.
A special well-decorated Rath was kept ready in the premises, dhol-tasha was being played, bursting of crackers was on. The posters displayed by Dr Parinay Fuke, Sandip Joshi, Munna Yadav, Panju Totwani, Nagpur BJP, District BJP and others attracted the attention of everyone.
Fadnavis came out from arrival gate along with his better half Amruta Fadnavis amid shouting of slogans.
Later on, he along with Amruta Fadnavis boarded the decorated Rath with Chandrashekhar Bawankule, State General Secretary of BJP; Dr Parinay Fuke, MLC; Pravin Datke, President of City BJP unit; Arvind Gajbhiye, President of Nagpur District BJP; Krishna Khopde, MLA; Vikas Kumbhare, MLA; Tekchand Savarkar, MLA; Mohan Mate, MLA; Prof Sanjay Bhende, Dr Vikas Mahatme, Rajya Sabha Member; Archana Dehankar, Shivani Dani Wakhare, State General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and others. The rally of bikes, cars with Rath of Fadanvis at the front began from the airport. He got down near the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar garlanded it and paid tributes. At Dr Hedgewar square also, Fadnavis paid respects. The rally then proceeded to his residence at Dhrampeth. Complete road was decorated, there were posters all over the road welcoming Fadnavis. At some places JCB was kept to sprinkle petals on Fadnavis and to garland the Rath. At every square, a large group of people was standing to welcome the Rath.
The police force was deployed all over the road by which rally was passed. At some places Marathi devotional songs too were played. Somebody compared the rally with that of Shri Ram Shobhayatra. People were in joyous mood. Some people expressed they did not mind Fadnavis becoming Deputy Chief Minister because for them he is their
supreme leader.
The rally passed by Somalwada square, Radisson Blu square, Chhatrapati square, Khamla square, Aath Rasta Chowk, Laxmi Nagar square, Bajaj Nagar square, Shankar Nagar square and reached Laxmi Bhuvan Square. At Laxmi Bhuvan square Fadnavis addressed the large gathering promising people of bringing good old days for Vidarbha. In his address he attributed his success to Nagpurians who voted him to win MLA elections for five times, before that made him Mayor too. He said he won’t be able to pay the debt of Nagpurians for showering love on him. He took names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Party President J P Nadda, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
The rally then reached Coffee House square and turned towards the residence of Fadnavis near Trikoni Park, Dharampeth.
An arrangement was made in Trikoni park where a huge pendal was erected where chairs were arranged for the people to sit till the rally arrives.
Most people waited for the arrival of rally. The Rath arrived and fire-crackers were burst, people shouted slogans and greeted Fadnavis. Devendra and Amruta Fadnavis got down and at the gate of his residence, his mother Sarita Fadnavis, his sisters Shobhna, Manjusha, both daughters of Shobha Fadnavis performed Aarti. Fadnavis bowed down and touched the feet of his mother to get her blessings. He went inside the home and met his relatives. He then came at Trikoni Park where large number of crowd was waiting for him. He met everyone accepted their greetings.
