Due to continuous heavy rains in the district since Tuesday, four gates of the Bhimgarh dam were opened after which Sanjay Sarovar has come on a spate of bridges and culverts. Due to this, the connectivity of many villages has been broken. In such a situation, people are facing problems in commuting.
Due to continuous rise in water level, four gates of Bhimgarh Dam have been opened from 4 pm on Tuesday. Another village Sunwara is also in spate due to heavy rainfall. Apart from this, Devghat is also overflowing. This led to loss of direct contact of Palari to Sunwara and Bhimgarh. The passers-by coming from here are traveling through Chirchira. Bhimgarh, Tilwara, Sunwara, Takhla and Villagers of other villages have told that the opening of four gates of Bhimgarh dam has not affected much. Only small bridges and culverts are in spate. Villagers said that due to the opening of the entire 10 gates of the dam, there is a situation of water-logging in the village. Two years ago, due to heavy rains and the opening of the entire 10 gates of the dam, there was water-logging in many villages, due to which the villagers were upset. Here, between Lalopar, Dhanagarha village from Sarekha of Keolari block, it came in spate from 3 pm on Wednesday. At the same time, some villagers were seen crossing the bridge risking their lives. On Wednesday too, the passers-by had to wait for more than 4 hours due to the spurt on the road. Many people reached their destination via Majhgawan from Keolari via Dobha, Malara, Kharsaru and Deori villages. The passers-by had to travel extra for about 20 km to come from this route. On Tuesday, people had to face humidity due to the hot sun, but in the evening, it started raining, which continued throughout the night. Due to this, the people of the area had to face problems due to water-logging in the low-lying areas of the city. At the same time, the farmers got relief as the crops dried up due to rain got new life. The situation of water logging was created due to heavy rains at many places of the city. As usual, the roads of Budhwari Bazar area were inundated with rain water. Whereas Ekta colony situated on Jabalpur road people had to face a lot of problems due to water logging in the main road near U Colony, Jyarat Naka, Gandhi and Bhagat Singh wards, the library of the municipality.
