IN A freak mishap, a security guard of Food Corporation of India (FCI) was killed after being sandwiched between two trucks at FCI Godown near Ajni Chunabhatti in Dhantoli Police Station area, on Thursday.
The deceased, Avinash Hansraj Shende (36) was a resident of Plot No 377, Tathagat Chowk, Sugat Nagar.
According to Police, a consignment-laden truck (MH-40/Y-0991) was to be weighed in the FCI Godown.
The truck driver was given signal to take the vehicle ahead towards the weighbridge.
However, the trucker got confused and started reversing the vehicle and collided with an Eicher truck (MH-33/4145) parked behind. Shende, who was passing-by, got trapped between the two vehicles and suffered serious injuries.
Injured Shende was rushed to Government Medical College & Hospital where the doctors declared him ‘brought dead.’ Dhantoli Police started investigations after registering an accidental death case.
