AMIDST the growing humidity and heat conditions, the twin cities received pretty good rains on Wednesday evening that changed the weather in Bhilai.
The rains have brought much relief from the humid temperature. The sudden downpour has brought the normal life to a standstill for some time but it turned the weather pleasant in and around Bhilai and Durg. Twin cities residents said they got the much-needed respite from the continuous hot and humid weather.
For the last ten days the weather conditions across the city were hot and humid. Twin cities has been witnessing around 32-35 degree Celsius day temperature and humidity level above 70% for the past one week, the much-needed rain brought cheers on the faces of the city residents.
On Wednesday, Twin City recorded maximum temperature of 32 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature recorded was 24.8 degree Celsius. After rains, kids were seen playing at gardens in their locality, while youngsters stepped into roads, parks and other hot-spot area to rejoice the pleasing ambiance. Meanwhile, rain led to water logging in some localities especially in slum pockets of Risali, Supela, Kohka, Khursipar etc. Waterlogging at prominent city crossings such as Chandra Maurya Crossing, Priyadarshini Parisar Railway Under Bridge, JP Crossing, Dabrapara etc led to massive traffic jam during late evening hours. The weathermen have predicted more rains in the days to come.
