TOP seed Shubham Bokade and Ashwin Palnitkar secured quarter-final berths by registering contrasting victories over their respective rivals in the ongoing Aditya Diddee Memorial Open Snooker Tournament being played at CP Club, Civil Lines.

Top seed Bokade made easy work of Shrikant Kapse and reserved his quarter-final birth by recording an easy 3-0 win.

Bokade beat Kapse 76-36 in the first frame and then consolidated his position taking the second frame 86-33. He then wrapped up the match with a fine 70-30 win in the third frame. In the other match, Palnitkar shocked sixth seed Anshul Tandekar 3-2 in an intriguing battle.

Palnitkar won first frame 57-41 but Tandekar bounced back levelling in the second frame with a 65-46 margin.

Tandekar took the lead with an 84-17 margin but Palnitkar regrouped himself and won the remaining two frames 65-63 and 74-43.
