Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU), Ramtek will present “Mahakavi Kalidas Sanskrit-Vrati National Award” for the year 2020, 2021 and 2022, in two categories - Senior Sanskrit Scholar and Young Sanskrit Scholar to six eminent Sanskrit scholars on September 18 (Sunday) to mark the University’s Silver Jubilee Foundation Day.
A press release stated that the purpose of the award was to honour the scholars, who have served throughout their lives for the promotion, dissemination, development and research of Sanskrit language. The award will be presented jointly by KKSU in memory of Late Pt Ram Narayan Sharma Vaidya, Ram Narayan Sharma Ayurveda Research Institute, local district administration and Maharashtra Tourism Development Board, Nagpur.
The programme will be presided over by KKSU Vice-Chancellor Prof Madhusudan Penna. State BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Ramtek MP Krupal Tumane, Ramtek MLA Adv Ashish Jaiswal, KKSU’s Founder Vice-Chancellor Dr Pankaj Chande, Ex-V-C Prof Uma Vaidya and Central Sanskrit University’s Prof Srinivasa Varakhedi will be present as the special guest. Dr Ramchandra Joshi and Silver Jubilee Coordinator Dr Krishnakumar Pande also will share the dais. Under Senior Sanskrit Scholar caterogary -- Prof S R Leela of Bengaluru; Prof K V Ramakrishnamacharyalu from Tirupati; Prof P C Muralimadhavan from Thrissur, will be conferred with the “Mahakavi Kalidas Sanskrit-Vrati National Award - 2022”.
Under Young Sanskrit Scholars category -- Prof K Ramasubramanian from Mumbai; Prof Balram Shukla, from Delhi; Dr Venkateswara Pai from Pune, will be conferred with “Mahakavi Kalidas Sanskrit-Vrati National Award 2022”. Senior scholars will get Rs. 50,000/- while young scholars will be given Rs 25000/- along with citation.
