RAIPUR,
Congress had made the promise of complete ban on liquor in Chhattisgarh just to achieve power, stated Member of Parliament (MP) Saroj Pandey while addressing the media in Raipur on Tuesday.
Continuing its attack on the incumbent government, the Rajya Sabha MP alleged that even after the passing of several years, Baghel-led Congress government in State did not take any concrete move towards liquor ban.
The State Government did not have any intention of banning liquor in Chhattisgarh, she said.
Congress Government in State has promised Rs 1,000 as pension to widows but Rs 350 is being given to them after the passing of several days, MP Pandey charged.
Pandey further alleged that a promise was made to waive-off the loans of Women Self Help Groups, but it is yet to be fulfilled. The loan amounts are being recovered for the women, who have taken the loans, by pressurising them.
Highlighting the coming plans of BJP Mahila Morcha, MP Pandey said the morcha with its 1 lakh members will launch a campaign ‘Mahtari Hunkar Rally’ from Bilaspur district on November 3 as a move to dethrone the incumbent government from the power. To chalk out a strategy for this, the morcha will be chairing the meeting in all districts on September 29-30.
