BHAVAN’S Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir (BBPVM) schools from Trimurti Nagar and Ashti branch continued their northward journey with victories in the ongoing YMCA Inter-School Under-16 Football Tournament for Boys and Girls. The tournament is being held at Rural Police Headquarters Ground, Suyog Nagar in North Nagpur.
While the Trimurti Nagar team had to sweat out hard to eke out a fighting win over Mahatma Gandhi High School in the tie-breaker 2-0 after playing a goal less draw in the regulation time, the team from Ashti branch was guided by Immanuel Paul’s double strike and Aaryansh Rao’s goal to blank Ira International 3-0 in their knock-out round
matches. In the girls section, which is being organised for the first time, Centre Point School, Dabha stunned title favourites St Ursula High School, Civil Lines 3-2 via sudden death. Both the teams failed to break the deadlock in the regulation time and the scores were level in the tie-breaker.
The semi-final and final matches will now be held on October 4 instead of October 6, informs a release from the organisers.
