GURUDEO Nagar Krida Mandal (GKM) and Dharampeth Krida Mandal ‘A’ (DKM) eves made it to the quarter-finals of the Basketball Junior District Championship under way at Shivaj Nagar courts on Saturday.

GKM girls emerged as Pool C toppers to qualify for the last-eight battle while DKM ‘A’ girls posted their third victory to qualify for the quarter-finals.

In a low-scoring match, GKM, riding on Vaishnavi Thimale’s top-score of 10 beat Nagpur Amateur Sporting Association (NASA) 27-04 (08-00, 02-02, 10-02, 07-00). Vidhi Gatlewar scored all the four points for the losing team.

Spartan eves could not even open their account against a rampaging DMK A girls going down 00-42 in a lop-sided encounter. Sameeksha Chandak scored nine points for the winners.
