Sleuths of Lokayukta Police special establishment, Jabalpur caught the District Accounts Manager at CMHO’s office, District Government Hospital while taking bribe of Rs 80,000 from owner of travel agency for clearing bills of Rs 13.24 lakh, on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Shraddha Tamrakar, posted as District Accounts Officer, CMHO Office.
Lokayukta, DSP, Dilip Jharbade informed that appellant, Sunil Mishra, owner of Mishra Tour and Travel, lodged a complaint that he provided transport facility at CMHO Office and submitted the bills amounting to Rs. 13.24 lakh. He several times contacted the Accounts Department of CMHO office when District Accounts Manager, Shraddha Tamrakar demanded bribe of Rs. 1.10 lakh for clearing the pending bills. Soon after he contacted the accounts manager and the deal was settled with bribe of Rs. 80,000. Taking a serious note on the complaint, Lokayukta police
fielded the appellant for collecting evidences. Once the information was confirmed, Lokayukta police team led by DSP, Dilip Jharbade comprised of Inspectors, Manju Tirkey, BHupendra Diwan and Surekha Parmar reached the CMHO Office and trapped the corrupt officer while receiving the bribe money bribe of Rs. 80,000 from the appellant. Lokayukta police have registered a case against the corrupt officer under relevant Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act while further investigations are underway.
