Sansad Khel Mahotsav begins with Samuhik Surya Namaskar

The 12-day ‘Sansad Khel Mahotsav’ began with Samuhik Surya Namaskar on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, on Thursday. The main district-level program of collective Surya Namaskar was organized by the District Administration and School Education Department at Ranital Sports Complex.
Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar Khatik, Member of Parliament, Rakesh Singh along with other public representatives and sports personalities inaugurated the mega event by lighting the torch and releasing balloons in the air.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Dr. Khatik said he was very happy to see Samuhik Surya Namaskar organized in Jabalpur and sports competition on Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. Dr Khatik said on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sansad Khel Mahotsava has been organized across the country, in which traditional sports are being included and given an opportunity to showcase them.
The Union Minister also narrated the story of Swami Vivekananda’s patriotism and said it is necessary to have such sports competitions to enhance the talents. Only through such competitions, players display their talents at the national and international level.
Expressing views on the occasion, Member of Parliament Rakesh Singh called upon youth to come forward and move towards new employment opportunities with physical and mental health by participating in sports competitions. He said sports gives competence and strength to face the challenges in life. MP Singh said on the call of Prime Minister Modi, Sansad Khel Mahotsava has been organized from Swami Vivek Anand Jayanti till the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, on January 23. He said different games, especially the traditional games which today’s generation does not even know will be organized on different days and there will be different guests for encouragement. He said Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will participate in the event, on Friday. On inauguration of the event, a girl performed Surya Namaskar through Yogasan, while the students from Pola village of Majhauli enthralled everyone with the attractive presentation of Surya Namaskar.
