Govindlal Agrawal, a stalwart in the field of education, passed away peacefully on Friday at 5 am. He was 85 years old. Agrawal’s mortal remains were consigned to flames at Ambazari ghat. He was Vice-Chairman of Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering & Management. He was also Past President of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce. Agrawal was a Senate Member of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. He got elected as Senate Member from Management Category. He was actively associated with various other social, industrial, and religious activities. He was Chairman of Jagruteshwar Mandir committee.

As per the wishes of his family members, both his eyes were donated in arrangement with Madhav Netralaya. He is survived by his wife Shardadevi, sons Prakash-Alka and Pradeep-Vanita, daughter Indu, grandchildren Vedant-Richa, Gaurav-Veda, Vidushi-Shyam, Niharika-Abhinav, Meenal, Nupur, and great-grandchildren Aarav and Arian.

Agarwal was one of the visionaries as also the policy implementer of the College on behalf of the Management. His experience, zeal, sincerity, and unconditional support helped the institution achieve its present-day stature.
