Wrestling competition and Malkhamb performance was given on eighth day of ongoing Sansad Khel Mahotsav at Ranital Sports Complex, on Thursday. As many as 47 children of Army School gave a spectacular performance of ancient game Malkhamb.
Speaking on the occasion, Member of Parliament, Rakesh Singh said the players who are showing their talents under Sansad Khel Mahotsav will surely bring laurels to the city on national and international level in the field of sports.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi thinks that in the coming five years, when India leads the world, the youth of our country should be healthy. For the same, it is necessary that they should come forward in the field of sports and along with keeping themselves healthy, take forward the name of their panchayat, city, district, state and country.
Singh said on the instructions of the Prime Minister, Khel Mahotsav has been organised in every parliamentary constituency across the country and in Jabalpur this event has started from Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on January 12 and will continue till Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary on January 23. He said along with modern games, our traditional games, which we have grown up playing, like Marbles, Pitthu, Chiti-Dhap, Lattu, Gulel are also being organised daily.
