Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh has welcomed the announcement of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to bring Jabalpur on top in Madhya Pradesh and for the same, he is continuously taking suggestions from people of all sections by holding public dialogues. Mayor Singh has recently submitted a letter to the Chief Minister to provide Rs 4000 crore to Jabalpur for first phase development works. He has also apprised about the proposal through a letter to Minister In-charge of district and State PWD Minister, Gopal Bhargava, Urban Development and Housing Minister, Bhupendra Singh, as well as the Chief Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
The Mayor has demanded funds from the State government by identifying 20 big works in the first phase to develop Jabalpur on the lines of other metropolitan cities and to provide metropolitan facilities to the citizens. The infrastructure and development works include. Narmada River Front from Kalighat to Tilwara Ghat and other works on the banks of river Narmada, International Cricket Stadium, road and other construction on land of closed narrow gauge, big nullahs and other works to prevent waterlooging, construction of additional Sanjeevani clinics, Smart Schools, ropeway development Dhuandhar, Chausath Yogni, Madan-Mahal Fort and Pisanhari Madia, flyover from Ghamapur to Abdul Hamid Chowk, renovation of 10 major ponds, 5 big gardens, 9 crematoriums and graveyards, construction of roads in all 79 wards, development of traffic system and multilevel parking, international level swimming pool and auditorium, well-equipped hostels for players, commercial clusters, community buildings, ownership rights on government houses to sanitation employees, handing over 1000 acres of land of government institutions to the JMC/Smart City, development works approved earlier, installation of solar system and smooth functioning of closed major drains and other cleanliness works. Mayor Singh said soon the above amount is allocated by the Government, the city would be developed in the form of a beautiful well-organized new Jabalpur on the lines of other metropolitan cities and will be dedicated to the people of Sanskardhani.
